Access to the Internet is common and likely to become widespread- 

• 12.5m people will have at-home Net access by year's end
• many businesses already have Net access

These figures can be compared with communication tools

• near 100% at-home availability of telephone
• near 100% business availability of FAX

Once the internet becomes available via digital TV (and analogue TV is phased out), Sony Playstation 2 etc, Internet availability at home and work will probably exceed 90%; whether 90% of homes will actually use it is another matter.
